My Christmas holidays are always filled with travelling. My parents live in separate cities so in order to see both sides of the family, I have to do a bit of driving. This year, my dad’s side of the family came up to the cottage for the holidays. The last time I was here was in summer and it was beautiful. I didn’t know that winter would be just as inspiring.
I was looking forward to winter because of the new seasonal toys to play with up at the cottage. The newest toy - a Ski Doo snowmobile. I spent almost the entire holiday ripping through the trails on this snowmobile.
The snowmobile was awesome, but spending time with the family was what the holidays are about. The trip concluded with ice fishing and keeping warm by the wood stove. I decided to put down my camera and just enjoy the moments with my parents and sister. I gave my parents a print from Iceland, framed, to hang up at the cottage. It’s currently over the staircase at the front door. I can’t wait for the next trip up there in February.
